Description |
Standing from left to right are sisters Aili, Lydia, and Lempi. Sitting in front of them are their parents Marie and John Ranta. John and Marie were Finnish immigrants who moved to Rock, Michigan and became farmers in the early 1900s. Lempi is the only one in the photograph with a half-smile on her face. Her parents appear stoic along with her other sisters Aili and Lydia. They are dressed in dark clothing with Aili having a light pattern in her dress. |
