Note in the file with these photographs reads: "These pictures of a 1929 Farmers Picnic at Pioneer Trail Park sponsored by the Escanaba Chamber of Commerce were found in rubbish in the basement of the Sherman Hotel and saved for the Historical Society by Joseph Robitaille, 625 N. 18th Street. He will keep an eye out for any additional materials. Clint" (Clint Dunathan) Newspaper accounts of the picnic mention that they expected 2,500 to attend and that over 3,000 came to the picnic. |
