Description |
Six musicians are lined up next to a building. They are wearing uniforms and are holding their instruments. The building is identified as the "Corps Hall" and nothing further is identified. (The donor has identified one of the members of this group is Hilda Swenson, daughter of Anders Gustaf and Johanna Swenson.) The group was active in and around Gladstone in the 1930s and perhaps later. The same buildings appear in several of the snapshots in this group, and are identified on one of the photos as "The Corps Hall". There is a blue NRA stamp on the back of this photograph. The newspapers from 1933 show that the group performed at a number of places through the year including churches (especially Salvation Army churches) , young people's groups, and one tour to the Negaunee area. |
