Description |
Store at 308 Ludington Street, sometime in the 1880s or possibly 1890s. Originally build by the Greenhoot Brothers as their dry good store, it is liquor dealer or tavern in the photo. There is a display of bottles in the window. Part of the adjacent building can be seen with an open door and stairway visible. It also appears to be a tavern. and parts of a "Pabst" sign can be seen on the door frame next to the stair. There are two men in the doorway of 308, one wearing an apron. Two small boys are on the left side of the photo. The year "1879" is carved into the front of the building over the two pointed windows on the second floor. Later the building was the Lemmer Saloon. |
