Description |
An American soldier (may be James Marcoe) is posing wearing a captured German helmet. He has a large smile, and is standing in a relaxed position. Petty Officer Marcoe served in the Navy and was attached to the First Army in Europe. He served, trained and worked with soldiers in LCVP (landing craft vehicle personnel) in preparation for crossing the Rhine river. They trained in Belgium and participated in the capture of the Remagen Bridge. |
