Certificate, Marriage |
Description |
Edward Johnson and Signe Johnson were married on November 23, 1907, in Gladstone, Michigan. This framed marriage certificate has a gold seal from The Swedish Christian Mission Church of Gladstone with the words "God is Love" in the center. The certificate has pink and white roses with two doves adorning the top and it certifies that their marriage was united in holy matrimony. Witnesses on the certificate are Mr. Gust A. Johnson and Miss Anne S. Swanson and the pastor was Carl R. Martin. The bottom of the certificate has two verses from the Bible about marriage. While no church is given this would probably have been a marriage performed at a Lutheran Church in Gladstone. The matte is mauve and green and the modern frame is gold and decorative. |
