Description |
Long yellow two-piece dress in the style predominately worn during the mid to late 1800s. The two-pieces worn together give the dress a two-tiered appearance. Three bands of blue trim encircle the bottom of both tiers with the lowest band accented with dangling blue pom pom balls. A band of blue trim and pom pom balls also encircle the shoulders and just below that is gold cording in a loop pattern sewn onto the sleeves. A yellow ribbon with a blue border is adhered to the waist and ties at the front. Blue pom pom balls also accent the ends of the ribbon as well as mimic buttons going down the front of the bodice. Finally, blue edging is around the cuffs and collar and pieces of lace adorn the sleeves above the cuffs as well as around the collar. Hook and eye fasteners are used to button the top piece of at the front of the dress. The skirt itself is very long and was likely worn with a crinoline. It too also buttons together using hook and eye fasteners. |
