Description |
This checkbook cover was probably given to customers at the original Fair Store. The inside cover advertises "The Fair Dry Goods & Clothing House, 812 to 814 Ludington st., Escanaba Mich. Originator of Low Prices." A calendar fir 1893 is also included in the back cover. This could have been used as a wallet as well as a checkbook cover. The cover is made of faux navy blue leather material and lined with cream colored canvas. The address in the 800 block of Ludington Street was probably the first location for the Fair store. Later the store added "Savings Bank" to its title. |
